There seems to be no end in Marx’s dialectical method, whereas the history is finished at the end point of Hegel’s dialectic. According to Marx, the movement of and negation and replacement continuously development in society, as more and more economic forms come into place. Since currency is a special form of commodity, it also negates commodities (negating negativity). The concept of value is negated when it turns into a tangible form of currency. A conflict is formed when value is attached to commodities, which negate commodities themselves. Commodity is where all conflicts begin in Marx’s model. However, different from Hegel’s notion that attribute dialectic to a historical progress with generalization, Marx’s method describes social changes under Capitalism, and the slaves-masters relationship specifically points toward the relationship between employers and workers in a Capitalist model. In Marx’s dialectical method, the theme of negating negativity still pervasively exist. As a result, history elevates to meet new levels through the process of negating the negativity between two or more conflicted concepts and uniting them into a more complete one. In order to resolve a conflict, a synthesis emerges to combine the best parts of these contradictory ideas and also abandon the worst parts. Throughout history, ideas and ideas interact with each other to form differences and conflicts, which constitutes a development of history from on stage to another. This movement happens in two ways: negating the negativity and uniting the oppositions. dialectics of history:This method refers to the process which history moves forward to a particular end goal. As a result, their identity in the relationship could be viewed as flipped, which is a dialectical method.Ģ. However, the dialectic emerges at the moment when the relationship breaks up - when the masters or the slaves realize the masters’ dependency on the slaves because of the direct interaction between the slaves and Nature through work. The relationship is only able to sustain when the slaves and the masters believe that the masters hold complete power over the slaves and the slaves have no power over their masters. slaves and masters: A dialectic method also exists in the relationship between slaves and masters. I can see two kinds of dialectical methods in Kojeve’s writing: the dialectic of slaves and masters, and the dialectics of history:ġ.
